SNGG Florida Medwaiver Coffee Chats

How do you get started with CDC Plus?

One of our biggest requests for Coffee Chats has been more specifics on CDC Plus.

In this video, Scarlett talks about what a parent or representative must do to get started on this program. (As a reminder, CDC Plus is a program that parents/guardians can utilize once they receive Waiver services.)

It is always free to apply for the Waiver and for CDC Plus. For more info on CDC Plus, visit the APD’s site here.

Or the SNGG info page here.

Watch the video here:

Carrie’s daughter is on the Waiver, and her family utilizes CDC Plus. They use it to pay a decent wage to a respite worker they found and hired without using an agency. (If you are on the regular Waiver and not on CDC Plus, you must go through an agency that pays the respite providers and handles recruitment and hiring.)

The first step to getting Waiver services is always the application. (You can download it here.) Remember, “You can’t win if you don’t play”…you can’t get assistance if you don’t apply!
